Version 5 Enhancements

PhoneMaster was first launched in 1996 and since then it has firmly established itself as the easiest-to-use administration package for Nortel CS1000 and Meridian telephone systems in the market. Now, Phoneware is pleased to announce the further development of PhoneMaster with the launch of PhoneMaster Version 5. The following is a brief summary of the major enhancements in PhoneMaster Version 5.

SUCCESSION 5 COMPATIBILITY
PhoneMaster 5 is fully Succession 5 compatible. If you are planning to upgrade your switch to Succession 5, you will also need to upgrade your version of PhoneMaster to PhoneMaster 5. No other version of PhoneMaster is compatible with Succession 5.

NEW IP TELEPHONES

PhoneMaster 5 administers the full range of new IP telephones, including i1110, i1120, i1140 and i1150.

EASY NAVIGATION WITH NEW TREE VIEW
Finding your way around PhoneMaster is now easier than ever, with the new Tree View control on the left of the screen which allows you to see all of the menu items at a glance. The Tree View also contains a list of available sites at the bottom for easy access.

NEW TELEPHONE WIZARD
One of the nicest new features in PhoneMaster 5 is the New Telephone Wizard, which allows you to bulk create a group of new telephones in a simple step-by-step process. The wizard will prompt you for the Number of Telephones, Type of Telephone, Template to be used, Directory Numbers to be used and Names for the telephones.

Both the Directory Numbers and Names can be imported from a delimited file or a spreadsheet.

NUMBERING PLAN UPGRADE UTILITY
One of the challenges that faces telephone system administrators is what to do when they run out of spare numbers in their telephone numbering plan. Now, PhoneMaster 5 solves that problem with the new Numbering Plan Upgrade Utility.

This utility allows you to upgrade your numbering plan from, say, a 4-digit numbering plan to a 5-digit numbering plan. Leading digits of the old numbers can also be deleted and replaced with new digits. Using PhoneMaster's "Find Telephone" screen, the numbering plan upgrade can be performed in stages to eliminate conflicts between the old numbering plan and the new numbering plan.

ENHANCED REPORTING

The Reporting capabilities of PhoneMaster have been enhanced in Version 5 to allow you to save report formats, so you can simply run a pre-configured report each time you wish to view telephone data.

TELEPHONE GRAPHICS FOR EASY IDENTIFICATION

you’re PhoneMaster 5 has graphic images of the various telephones which can be administered, making it easier to identify and select the correct telephone type.

ENHANCED TELEPHONE TYPE LISTS

PhoneMaster has been around for so long that the list of telephones which it administers is ever-expanding. Many installations still have the older telephone types and these, along with the newer IP telephones, can still be administered through PhoneMaster. However, the list of telephone types often contains many telephone types which you will never use, so you can now customize the list to display the types of telephones you wish to see.
