SETBUILDER - MIGRATION MADE EASY
So, your customer wants to migrate to VOIP. Cisco's CallManager is an obvious choice and the customer is impressed by the sales presentation. And then the customer asks about migrating the data from an existing Nortel PBX to CallManager. No problem, that's exactly what SetBuilder does.
SetBuilder downloads the telephone database from a Nortel Succession or Meridian PBX, translates each telephone and its features to a corresponding CallManager IP telephone, and then builds the entire telephone database in CallManager.
The time and cost which SetBuilder can save in migrating a telephone database are considerable. An estimate of 50 telephones per day to manually configure CallManager IP telephones is reasonable, which means that a database of 1,000 telephones could take up to 20 working days.
SetBuilder can build approxiamately 1000 IP telephones in a CallManager switch in just over 2 hours. That's a time saving of over 22 days or less than 2% of the time taken to configure telephones manually. Add to that the time taken to retrieve the information from the Nortel PBX, which SetBuilder does automatically, and the time and cost saved by using SetBuilder are too great to be ignore.

TELEPHONE PROGRAMMING
Create new Telephones or make changes to existing Telephones

BULK CHANGES
You can make changes to user-defined groups of Telephones or Device Profiles and the changes will be made to the entire group
BULK CREATION/DELETION OF TELEPHONES
Telephones can be created or deleted in bulk.
SCHEDULE CHANGES
As well as allowing you to make changes on an ad hoc basis, you can schedule changes to be uploaded later.
ROLLBACK CHANGES
Every change made to a telephone in SetBuilder is saved to a history file, which allows you to view any previous configuration of a telephone and restore it if necessary.
FULL RANGE OF TELEPHONE AND LINE FEATURES
Telephone Features include Device Pool, MAC Address, Calling Search Space, Button Template, Speed Dials. Line Features include Route Partition, Calling Search Space, Call Forwarding, Call Pickup Group, Music On Hold, Voice Mail Profile.
USER-DEFINABLE TELEPHONE IDENTIFIERS
The Identifiers associated with a Telephone are user-definable and can include any additional fields, such as Department, Room Number, Employee Number, etc.
FULL SEARCH FACILITY
The Search facility for finding Telephones has a full range of Search Filters which can be applied, including Identifiers (Name, Department, etc.), Directory Number (Line), Telephone Type, MAC Address, Device Pool, Calling Search Space, etc.
SEARCH FOR SPARE NUMBERS
You can search the database to find unused numbers in your numbering plan,which can then be used to add lines to telephones.
NUMBERING PLAN UPGRADE
You can upgrade your Numbering Plan by deleting existing and inserting new leading digits to numbers e.g. you could delete the first digit of all extensions beginning with 2 and insert 54, so that extension 2108 would become 54108.
FORCED AUTHORIZATION CODES & CLIENT MATTER CODES
Forced Authorization Codes and Client Matter Codes can be created individually, or imported in bulk from a file, and saved to the telephone system.
REPORTS
You can run Reports to produce easily-readable lists of Telephones and their associated features.
INTEGRATED WEB BROWSER
You can log in directly to the telephone system using the Integrated Web Browser, or simply browse other websites without leaving SetBuilder.
LOGFILES
SetBuilder records all changes uploaded to the telephone system in a Log File and a separate Error Log File is maintained which records any errors encountered when communicating with the telephone system.
